This is getting ridiculous! For two days in a row, my internet service has been down at night, thus leaving me to post in the morning for my "day" I wrote down my thoughts last night, but it is still hard to retain all of the memories from the day before well enough to blog. I sure hope I get to blog tonight for my today! That would indeed be a happy moment!
- Joel is off of school early these days because of Parent/Teacher conferences. I picked him up yesterday and we decided to lunch at McDonalds, which is something we haven't done in a really long time! As we were driving to McDonalds, I was explaining to Joel that is might be REALLY busy because of all the other children that were out of school at that time. Joel says, "so if it is too busy, we can eat outside of the play area and then just go in." I said back to him, "yeah but Joel, if it is crazy busy and I can't find a place to park, then we will have to drive through." Joel, "That's my girl!" He had me laughing so hard! I guess he expects nothing less from Mommy than always having a Plan B or C. LOL In our lives you just have to! We had a great time and were able to park, go in, AND sit inside the play area. Connor got to go up to the play area and slide down for the first time as well. It was such a moment! I used to go to that particular McDonald's on a weekly basis when I was pregnant with Connor. It gave Joel a place to play where I didn't have to run around and chase after him. Now my BABY is up in the play area sliding down the twisty slide! Time does go by too quickly!
- When we got home from lunch, I put Connor down for a nap, and Joel and I played a game called Aggravation. It is a little known game from the 80's that was my favorite game in the whole world to play when I was his age. It has marbles and, as Joel pointed out, is very much like to the game of Sorry with dice instead of cards. Joel was so excited when he figured that out! "I can play Sorry really well Mom, so I know how to play Aggravation too!" He couldn't wait to "Aggravate" me....deep down I think he was getting a little thrill being able to LEGALLY aggravate his mother because it was in a game ;-).
Well, that was pretty much my day. I couldn't get online and get the Christmas shopping done that I had planned to do. I didn't get to see anyone on Facebook, and blogging wasn't an option. So the whole family pitched in and cleaned out two baskets of toys that we had been needing to reorganize. I hope everyone else has a computer-free day and hopefully I will get to blog my heart out tonight on all the happy moments that are in store for my day!
